What your Snapshot Review contains
A dated, human-reviewed picture of your business as it is today, built only from your Intake Form answers—with a copy of The Founder’s Trap so the ideas behind it are always to hand. It contains:
How the parts of your business fit togetherEach of the nine parts—your offer, customers, channels, relationships, revenue, activities, resources, partners and costs—read as strong or weak from your answers and shown as a radar chart. Where the evidence can’t support a reading, we say so.
The relationships that matter mostThree to five of the 36 relationships between those parts, chosen for your decision. Each shows its state—both strong, strong–weak or both weak—the answers behind it, and which of the book’s three traps, if any, it resembles.
What the evidence does and doesn’t showHow confident each reading is, the important gaps, and any relationship your answers can’t settle—marked as “can’t yet tell” rather than guessed.
The question to resolve before your next moveOne clearly framed question that arises from your evidence and sits underneath the decision you are facing. It is a question, not an action plan.
It also states what the review is for and how far it can be relied on, the method version used, any limitations, and Bruce’s sign-off. It is not advice, an audit, a valuation or a guarantee: it describes how your business works; it does not prescribe the redesign.
Here’s what a Snapshot Review looks like
Kitchen Cabinets: a complete example
Rachel designs, builds and installs budget kitchens. Her business is busy but has plateaued. This is the Snapshot Review built from her Intake Form answers—exactly the format you would receive.
It shows the radar of her nine blocks, the four relationships that matter most with their states, what the evidence can’t tell yet, and the one question for her to resolve—with every reading traced to her answers, which are reproduced in full.
Rachel, her business and every figure are fictional. 17 pages, PDF.
Your Snapshot Review is read using the method in Chapter 9 of The Founder’s Trap, “Your Business Foundation: Nine Blocks, 36 Relationships”. You don’t need to read it first, but it explains exactly how your review works.
Describing the nine blocks of a business is only the starting point. Pressure usually lies in how they connect: a row of healthy-looking blocks can still hide a business under strain. So each block is read as strong or weak on your evidence—“weak” describes how a part is operating, not how well it is evidenced—and the 36 relationships between the blocks are read the same way.
Both strongWhere leverage can come from—but only when the evidence shows the two parts actually working together. Two strong parts that don’t connect are two strengths, not a relationship.
Strong–weakOne part strong, the other weak: effort resting on a gap, with value leaking or investment on a shaky foundation. Your review always names which part is the strong one.
Both weakWhere the book’s three traps most often form. A weak reading isn’t automatically a problem: whether it matters depends on how much the business relies on it.
Can’t tell yetWhere your answers can’t support a reading, it isn’t forced. It’s recorded as a gap in the evidence, not guessed—the method refusing to invent certainty it hasn’t earned.
A shape, not a grade. The radar chart summarises the reading; it doesn’t contain it, and a larger shape is not a better business. Your review names the few relationships that matter most for your decision, in plain language, with the evidence behind each. It shows where pressure appears to be concentrated; it doesn’t claim to prove cause.
BusinessBuilder is designed as a progression. You can stop at any stage, and most of the value is available at the first.
1 · Snapshot ReviewThe dated baseline described above, from your Intake Form. A$249, including the book.
2 · Board Review (by invitation)For selected founders after a Snapshot Review: additional evidence and perspectives from different disciplines, with a Chairman resolving the genuine tension into one direction worth testing.
3 · Deep ReviewA selectively scoped look at specific evidence or a bounded strategic question, where the evidence and the stakes justify the depth.
4 · Comparative Review (pilot)After you act and new evidence exists, a later dated review set beside your preserved baseline—so you can see what actually changed.
Scope and pricing for the later stages are confirmed with you before any work begins.

Examples of a Snapshot Review and Board Review
These three worked examples show the kind of result the first two stages produce together—a Snapshot Review followed by a Board Review. A Snapshot Review on its own covers the reading of the business; the tests and scenarios that point to a direction come from the Board Review. The businesses, people and figures are fictional.
How it works
Four steps, no meetings required
1
Book and payBook your Snapshot Review and pay securely. The Intake Form link arrives straight away, with your copy of the book.
2
Complete the intake formA structured form: allow 45–60 minutes. Approximate figures are fine, and “not known” is always a valid answer.
3
We review the evidenceWe work through your answers using the book’s method, with AI tools helping to organise the evidence and draft. We contact you if anything needs clarifying, and Bruce checks every finding against your evidence and approves your Snapshot Review before it is released.
4
Receive your Snapshot ReviewWithin two business days of receiving your completed Intake Form. If we’re ever unusually busy, we’ll tell you straight away.
Trading businessesFor founders who are busy but not getting further: margin pressure, dependence on a few customers or suppliers, or growth that adds work rather than profit.
Pre-revenue businessesFor founders preparing to launch. The intake skips trading-history questions and asks what you have tested so far—and what you are still assuming.
Already own the book?Your A$29 is credited. Enter the book-owner code from your book purchase email at checkout and your Snapshot Review is A$220, within 90 days of buying the book.
What does booking a place mean?We complete four Snapshot Reviews a week, so booking reserves one of them. There is no meeting to attend; the review works from the evidence you provide in the intake form.
Do I need to read the book first? No, but it helps. The book is included, and your Snapshot Review uses the same ideas and language.
How is AI used?AI tools play a significant part: they help organise your evidence, draft and cross-check your Snapshot Review under a documented method. They don’t decide the findings, they don’t fill gaps in the evidence with guesses, and nothing reaches you without human review. Bruce checks every finding against the evidence you supplied and approves each Snapshot Review before release, and each AI-assisted step is recorded.
Why only four a week?Every Snapshot Review is checked and approved by a person before it reaches you. Limiting places keeps that review careful and lets us keep the two-business-day turnaround.
How soon will I receive my Snapshot Review?Within two business days of receiving your completed Intake Form. We take four Snapshot Reviews a week; when a week is fully booked, the Book button says so, and new places open each Monday. If we’re ever unusually busy after you’ve paid, we’ll tell you straight away.
Can I cancel?Yes, if you cancel before submitting your Intake Form we’ll refund the review portion of your payment (A$220). Once you’ve submitted it, we begin work, so change-of-mind refunds aren’t offered from that point. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law always apply. See the refund policy.
